Indications:
Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish is an effective medicine against a large number of fungi (broad-spectrum antifungal medicine) for local use on fingernails and toenails, as well as on the skin from the immediate vicinity.

It is used to treat mild to moderate fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) caused by filamentous fungi and/or other fungi that can be treated with ciclopirox.

The active substance, ciclopirox, prevents the growth of fungi and destroys them. This improves the appearance of your nails.

Method of administration:

Cutaneous administration (only for use on nails and the immediately surrounding skin).
Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish is for adults only.
Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish is applied in a thin layer, once a day, to the infected nail or nails. For this, the nails must be clean and dry. The medicated nail polish must be applied to the entire surface of the nail and 5 mm of the surrounding skin. If possible, Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish should also be applied under the free edge of the nails.
Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish is allowed to dry for approximately 30 seconds.
Nails must not be washed for at least 6 hours after application, therefore, it is recommended to apply in the evening, before going to bed. After this period of time, normal hygiene practices can be followed.

Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish does not require removal with solvents or abrasive materials (eg nail file); washing the nails with water is sufficient. Sometimes after a few days of treatment, due to improper washing of the nail, a thin, white film may appear on its surface. To remove it, careful washing with neutral soap or a nail brush or sponge is necessary. In case of unintentional removal by washing, Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish can be reapplied. It is recommended to periodically remove the free parts of infected nails, for example by cutting them.

The treatment should be continued until the disease disappears, which means until other healthy nails have grown back, transparent or almost transparent. Normally, complete healing of fingernails is achieved in about 6 months, and of toenails in about 9 to 12 months.
