Indications:

Essentiale MAX contains essential phospholipids extracted from soybeans. 
This medicine is indicated for adults, adolescents and children over 12 years of age, to relieve symptoms such as loss of appetite and a feeling of pressure in the right upper abdomen, caused by damage to the liver by toxic substances or unhealthy diet (toxico-nutritional damage to the liver) and in chronic inflammation of the liver (hepatitis).

Contraindications:

Do not use Essentiale MAX:
- if you are allergic to phosphatidylcholine (from the composition of essential phospholipids), preparations from soybeans, peanuts or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Essentiale MAX.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Soybean preparations are widely used in human nutrition and so far there is no evidence to suggest any risk when used during pregnancy and breast-feeding. As clinical trial data are insufficient, the use of Essentiale MAX during pregnancy without medical supervision, as well as during breast-feeding, is not recommended. 

Driving and using machines:
This medicine does not affect the ability to drive or use machines. 

Method of administration:

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The recommended dose is:
Age and/or body weight
Single dose Daily dose
Children over 12 years of age (approximately 43 kg)
Adolescents and adults 1 capsule (600 mg essential phospholipids from soybeans) 1 capsule 3 times a day (1800 mg essential phospholipids from soybeans)
Essentiale MAX capsules are swallowed whole, during meals, with a sufficient amount of liquid (preferably a glass of water, 200 ml). In general, the duration of treatment is unlimited.

Composition:

- Active substance: essential phospholipids extracted from soybeans 600 mg. Essential phospholipids contain 76% (3-sn-phosphatidyl) choline (extractant: ethanol 96% (v/v)).
- The other ingredients are: solid fat (Witepsol W35), refined soybean oil, alpha-tocopherol, hydrogenated castor oil, solid fat (Witepsol S55), ethanol 96%, ethylvanillin, 4-methoxyacetophenone, gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171), yellow iron oxide (E172), black iron oxide (E172), red iron oxide (E172), sodium lauryl sulfate.
